Book Week Scotland 2024

We had a great week for Book Week Scotland!

After a fun week of Secondary Countdown heats, our S5 boys team were the first pupil team to win the staff versus pupils competition in 7 years, a huge well done to Jameson, Wilfie, Daniel and Matthew who stood in for Nicolas.

P2 and P3 have received their Read, Write and Count bags, P1 received their bookbug bags too. Nursery were also gifted some books from Miss Gibbon's cupboard.

Upper Primary pupils received visit from Renita Boyle the following Tuesday also as part of Book Week Scotland celebrations with thanks to the Wigtown Book Festival for arranging.

Book Week Scotland 2023

For Book Week Scotland 2023, we handed out all the Bookbug and Read, Write and Count Bags. Penny Johnstone P2/3 was very excited for everyone to see her winning design on her bag. She had won the competition earlier in the year and was awarded the honour of having her design on every bag in Scotland! Thank you to the Scottish Book Trust, yet again, the book bags are amazing.

We ran our annual Countdown competition in Secondary, and surprise surprise the staff team won yet again!! Someone must defeat them! Well done to all who entered, it's always a fun part of Book Week Scotland for Secondary.

Thank you to senior pupils who assisted with all activities.

 Book Week Scotland 2022

Pupils have been taking part in Book Week Scotland activities again this year. Secondary pupils competed in a Countdown tournament and Nursery to P3 pupils viewed and voted for the Bookbug Picture Book Prize nominations. They watched the authors reading the nominated books and then voted for their favourites which were entered into the Scottish Book Trust website to join in with voting pupils from all over Scotland. They also received their Bookbug bags and Read, Write and Count bags. P4-P7 have been writing reviews on their fantastic author visit from last week (David Macphail) and also designing book covers.
