Following the regional schools Boccia Festival, eight pupils were selected to represent D&G at Easterhouse Sports Centre in Glasgow in September. Among them were Reece Paterson and Abi Johnston from Moffat Academy. Both pupils played very well in all their games, Abi finished in second place overall and won the silver medal. They are pictured below with their certificates of achievement. Well done to them both.
Five pupils took part in the Scottish Disability Sport Athletics Championships last week. Everyone performed exceptionally well and three pupils came back with medals. Shay was first in the 1500m and Abi was first in the club throw and wheelchair push. Well done to all the athletes.
The Dumfries and Galloway Disability Boccia Festival took place in September at Dumfries College. Six pupils represented Moffat Academy with three pupils having medal successes: Reece Paterson S1, who finished in first place in the physical disability category, Abi Johnston S3 who was runner up in the same section and Caleb Dawson who was third in the Learning Disability category. Five of the competitors are pictured here with their certificates.
