Term 1 August to October 2022

Brilliant Builders Nursery 2022 Term 1

New Starts Beattock Nursery 2022/23 Term 1

It was lovely to welcome our new starts. This year we had two very special new starts, Lisa and Lizzy! Lisa is a Plymouth Rock and Lizzy is a Bard Wyndop. They are our beautiful hens! We hatched them in March and now they are big enough to come to nursery! Both hens will be staying back at the farm over the winter.

Drumlanrig Beattock Nursery 2022/23 Term 1

To help us get to know one another better we had a family outing to Drumlanrig Castle’s Adventure Playground.

SUPER STUDENTS!

The nursery has made friends for life in the form of Miss Sasha Grant, our PDGE student. She spent her first placement here and we know she will make a wonderful teacher.

We’ve also had Miss Alex Frame, our S4 Childcare student, here for the term. She is an outstanding Childcare student.

Wonderful Water Beattock Nursery 2022

Our outdoor tap has certainly been busy this term! It has made us appreciate the luxury we have of playing with clean water. Article 24 of the UN Convention says that every child should have access to clean water.

Woodland Wednesdays

Out and about in beautiful Beattock. Here we are at the Heritage park, picking brambles up the Back Road, at the local park and visiting our elderly neighbours.

Nature Nudges Mysteries

This term we’ve been scratching our heads trying to work out what these are? Can you guess? One of our mums won a bottle of wine guessing that the fruit was a Lemon Apple Cucumber and another mum worked out that this lovely plant is called a Himalayan Honeysuckle.

Nature Nudges, Beattock Nursery 2022/23 Term 1

It’s great to bring the outdoors indoors and we’ve enjoyed our nature displays.

Love, Beattock Nursery 2022/23, Term 1

We have been learning that some people celebrate their love for each other by getting married. We were invited to a real wedding at Kirkpatrick Juxta Church. As one of our pupil’s said “This is the best day of my life!” Thank you to Rev Elsie MacRae and the family of Andy Shuttleworth for making us feel so welcome at the church.
