Beattock Nursery News 2023, Term 3

EGG-CITING REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES

It feels like CHEF SCHOOL in the nursery sometimes! Bella bella pasta! SOUP-er soups and brilliant breads! We’ve also been gardening and been busy doing woodwork. One very EGG-citing thing that we’ve been doing is HATCHING EGGS. Thank you Ethan for bringing in so many eggs for us.

PARENTS

Parents at Beattock nursery are the best. At our Parent Chats we’ve been learning FIRST AID and about SLEEP and BOUNDARIES. We’ve enjoyed our STAY and PLAY mornings and Family Mealtimes. Parents gave a huge thumbs up to Moffat Academy’s kitchen for the fantastic nursery lunches we receive.

NURSERY PUPIL COUNCIL

Thanks Pupil Council for keeping us safe at the Hall and writing a very comprehensive Risk Assessment. You also planned a lovely SHOP area. So if anyone wants to buy pigs, cows, owls or dinosaurs; quad bikes or electric bikes, hop on down to Beattock Mega Market!

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We LOVED our visit from Moffat Fire Service.

Shopping in Moffat and visiting Moffat to see the big buildings has been very interesting.

Thanks Max Douglas, local joiner, for our wood delivery!

FEIS ROIS

Singing and dancing along to Emily Smith from FEIS ROIS has been one of the highlights this term. We’ve loved dancing to the accordion and ukulele and learning new tunes.

BOOK CLUB: LOVING BOOKS

World Book Day kicked off our new Book Club. It has certainly got us reading at home and at nursery. Congratulations to Emily who has read and reviewed the most books in March AND TO Logan and Leo who were runners up.

ENGAGING WITH NATURE

Thank you Beattock House and Peter Dreghorn, it was great to plant some wee trees down your driveway and water the seeds in the poly-tunnel.

Our Avenue of Trees at Beattock Play park are growing nicely! Some of the Rowan and Gean saplings are taller than us now! Looking after them is exciting.
