P1-P3 Christmas Concert
On Thursday 15th December, P1-3 presented, “Our First Christmas Play”, an amusing tale about a forgetful Santa needing a bit of help on Christmas Eve! It was lovely being able to invite parents/carers into the school again to enjoy our yearly Christmas Concert, after an absence of two years due to Covid. It was great to see the hall full of people and the children performing with both confidence and a real sense of fun. Well done, all!

David Macphail Author Visit with the Wigtown Book Festival on Tour
We were delighted that Moffat Primary was chosen as one of forty D&G primary schools to receive a fully funded author visit as part of the Big DoG School's Tour, organised by Wigtown Festival Company with support from Baillie Gifford.
On Monday 7th November, we welcomed the fantastic children's author David Macphail to Moffat Primary. David discussed how he became an author and then read the first chapter in his book 'Top Secret Grandad and Me: Death by Soup' followed by lots of pupil questions! David then discussed how he creates his stories using mindmaps.
David was very entertaining and interactive with the pupils and they thoroughly enjoyed the session.
A huge thank you to David Macphail and the Wigtown Book Festival team!
