HumanUtopia

P5, P6 and P7  had an amazing experience with Humanutopia. Thank you also to our S2 heroes who have helped facilitate.

The “Who Am I” programme has been a one-day workshop divided into three sessions:

  • Comfort Zone: Students reflect on their past to understand how their experiences have shaped them.
  • Stretch Zone: Encourages students to step out of their comfort zones, interact with peers outside their usual circles, and consider how different behaviours can lead to positive outcomes.
  • Panic Zone: Students envision their future aspirations and commit to making three positive changes to achieve their goals.

It’s enabled so many thought-provoking conversations. Lots of follow-up in classes to come.

Huge well done to the amazing P7s in music who completed a group performance of Dance Monkey! They had a shot at playing ukulele, keyboard, and drum kit – and for some, it was their very first time trying an instrument! Such a fantastic achievement. Can’t wait to see what they’ll achieve in music after the summer!

Annandale and Eskdale Race

Moffat Academy attended an Annandale and Eskdale primary 4x100m relay race in Annan. The teams had to run two heats to qualify for the final race which they managed to achieve. The Moffat teams ran well while demonstrating excellent team spirit to encourage each other throughout the event. The girls team managed to win the bronze medals and the boys team won silver. Congratulations to all the pupils who represented their school in an excellent manner and thank you to the active schools team for organising this event.

P5 Sleepover

What a fantastic Friday for our P5 class!

Our young adventurers spent the day taking part in a tailor-made Kayantics programme – from building their own go-karts, to crafting cosy dens, conquering the hill climb and even rolling up their sleeves to make fresh pizza. Each challenge encouraged growing independence and helped build resilience, as learners worked together to solve problems, take responsibility for their creations and support one another every step of the way.

But the fun didn’t stop there! Back at school, the excitement continued with an action-packed sleepover full of games and a fabulous silent disco. It was great watching everyone dance around the empty school – headphones on, smiles all round! Finally, following some fantastic stories and a film, they bedded down for the night in the drama studio.

Huge congratulations to all our P5 pupils for their creativity, courage and camaraderie. What a wonderful demonstration of independence, resilience and teamwork!
