P3 New Zealand Talk

P3 had a wonderful visit from Maggie Hereford in January.

She spoke to the children about life in New Zealand and how it compares to Scotland, including what the weather, Christmas and school days are like.

Maggie also taught P3 some Māori words, a Māori game, and introduced them to Kapa Haka. The children loved learning about a different culture.

Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your experiences with us.

P1/P2 Burns Supper

P1/2 enjoyed a delicious Burns Supper on Friday 23rd January. Children tucked into mini portions of haggis, neeps and tatties followed by their own homemade shortbread on tartan mats they had also created themselves.

Well done to our Scottish dancers and the Moffat Academy Pipe Band for their fantastic performances. A big thank you to the parents who helped on the day, and to Mutchies Munchies in Moffat for kindly providing the haggis, neeps and tatties for everyone to enjoy.

Article 31 (leisure, play and culture) Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
