Secondary Awards Ceremonies 2022
Moffat Academy was delighted to open its doors to pupils, parents and partners last week for their annual award ceremonies.
Once again, our pupils have made huge academic strides over the course of this academic year, and we are delighted to celebrate that, in addition to the range of extra-curricular opportunities our pupils have enjoyed. All credit to our pupils, whose hard work and commitment to learning has been celebrated."
On Wednesday evening, pupils from S4-S6 for the 21/22 session gathered alongside guests to come together to recognise and celebrate their achievements over the course of the year. Ryan Wilson (S1), Matt Jefford (S4) and Grace Rowan (S5) provided musical entertainment whilst former Moffat Academy pupil Oliver Mundell was guest speaker. In addition to sharing some memories of his time in school, Oliver Mundell stressed the importance of a motivated approach in order for pupils to rise to the challenges of school education.
It was the turn of S1-S3 pupils on Thursday afternoon, with awards showing a wide range of success across the year groups. Eilidh Cable (S3) and Wilfie Porteous (S2) played the keyboard.
Depute Head Teacher of Curriculum Stuart MacBeath said "we were delighted to be able to welcome the school community to celebrate our pupils' wide range of achievements. Due to restrictions, our celebrations have been very different over the past few years and it was great to return to an in-school event and see such an excellent turnout from parents and carers – both on Wednesday and on Thursday – to support our pupils and celebrate their achievements.
