Secondary English Crime Scene Lesson

1H were tasked with investigating the murder of Patrick Maloney in English this term. In the lead up to their investigation, they read Roald Dahl's 'Lamb to the Slaughter', learned about the themes of manipulation and power, and studied how to utilise open and closed questions to get the information they wanted. On the day, they visited:
  • Mary Maloney, wife to the deceased
  • Sam 'The Greengrocer' at his store
  • Billie Kavanagh 'The Forensic Analyst' at the crime scene (the Maloney home)
  • Detective Jack Noonan in his office at the Police Station
  • Claire Gentry, a passing witness

However, they also received information from the town's rumour mill, via a wandering gentleman named John.

The class had to use the information they sourced during their questioning of these characters to write their own tabloid news article.

We hope we have manage to prove who the killer truly is...

Thank you to the following S3s for getting the set put up and tidied away, as well as performing: Hannah Lockhart, Guy Simpson, Evie Bain, Lukas Robinson and Emma Votier.'
