Work Ready Day 2022/23 Term 1

Our Work Ready Day was held on Wednesday the 28^th of September. All of you S2 and 3 students were involved in an event with 13 different employers and education providers. We were fortunate to have talks and activities from Dumfries and Galloway College as well as Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership; DG Arts Festival and the Army, to name but a few. Students were able to find out about the different jobs available and what was involved in doing those jobs, alongside finding out about the many routes that can be taken to gain employment. Some activities they enjoyed were planning an event; finding out which trade they would be best suited to and using the 3D printers.

DYW (developing the young workforce) organised all of the visitors to the school, so a big thanks to Justin, who is always keen to broaden the horizons of our young people. A special thanks to all the visitors, who made time in their schedules to speak with our students and were engaging and helpful.
